Rowan Class

Rowan

Hello and a big welcome to Rowan Class (Lower Key Stage 2 - Years 3 and 4).

In Rowan class, we strive to work hard and have loads of fun! The adults in our class that help us to do this are Mrs Thomson and Miss Bottle.

During our two years in Rowan Class, we build upon our learning from Holly and Cherry Class and prepare for our journey into Oak Class. We have student governors, which is great preparation for the greater responsibilities we have in Upper Key Stage 2. Every year we put on the Easter performance, which we really enjoy. Also in KS2, we attend the Young Voices Concert, which is the world’s largest choir. We are just starting to learn the songs for the next concert!

Our learning is hugely important to us and we are always working hard to do the very best that we can - whether that be in Maths and Literacy lessons or in other areas of the curriculum such as French or Music. We take pride in the learning that we are part of and develop a range of different ways to present our work: written explanations, verbal presentations and speeches, presentations created on our chrome books to name just a few.

Currently, as a class we are reading The Great Kapok tree. This has inspired many debates over deforestation and the preservation of our rainforests.

Important things for Rowan Class to remember:

  • Home learning is given out on a Monday and returned for a Friday.
  • Our P.E. takes place every Monday afternoon.
  • We should aim to read every night and this can be either a book from home or a school book.
