Oversubscription Criteria

If our school is oversubscribed we use the criteria set out in our admissions arrangements, to decide the order in which children are offered places.

How to appeal a school offer - 2024

If your child is due to start primary school in September 2024, you can appeal if you are refused a place at one of your preferred schools on National Offer Day (Tuesday 16 April 2024).

You must submit your appeal before Tuesday 14 May 2024 for it to be considered by Tuesday 16 July 2024. Any appeals received after this time will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline, or where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.

For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.

We recommend that you still accept the place your child has been offered. This will not affect your appeal and will guarantee your child has a school place if your appeal is unsuccessful. If your appeal is successful you must remember to tell the school you were originally offered that you no longer want the place.

Information Regarding Appeals

Timetable for Appeals - Primary

Your appeal will be heard at what is called a Hearing, within a time scale of 40 school days from 14th May 2024. It is likely to be heard at the end of June and by Tuesday 16th July.

All other appeals known as ‘in-year’ admissions and those for Year R submitted after 14th May 2024 will be heard within 30 school working days of submitting the request.

Your appeal request should state your reasons for your request and any additional information/documentation/appendices should be submitted five days before the Hearing to allow time for it to be copied and distributed to all the interested parties. At least 10 working days before your appeal, unless you choose to waive this right, you will be sent detailed information regarding the process and also the date and names of the independent panel members who will hear the appeal.

The school is unable to guarantee that any original work/evidence/folders, submitted as part of the appeal, will be returned. Appellants may wish to submit copies in advance and then take important original documents verifying evidence to the appeal.

If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
