As a result of our Parent and Pupil voice surveys, we have considered the amount of time the children are spending in front of a screen and have decided to implement ‘Screen-Free Friday afternoons’ in order to support the overall wellbeing of our children and families. We are hoping you can spend the afternoon taking part in more hands-on pursuits, such as drawing, cooking, walking, cycling, physical activity, gardening, building dens etc., all of which cannot be completed in the same way when being taught remotely and in live lessons. We hope this will provide both respite and a nice change for you all; it’s a case of downing tools, relaxing and spending time pursuing other endeavours.
To ensure that Friday afternoon is completely screen free, Collective Worship on Friday will take place at 9.15am. Pupils will begin Friday online at 9.15am in collective worship and after collective worship (at approximately 9.30am) log onto their normal Google classroom link to access their lessons. This will ensure that ‘Screen-Free Friday afternoons’ can commence from 12pm.
Below are a series of links and suggestions which we hope will inspire you (and your children) to move away from the screens and get creative.
