The Olympic Torch arrives at Pluckley School

Everyone at Pluckley School were very excited about the arrival of the Olympic Torch at School today. Matt and Chris Blandford are both ex pupils of Pluckley School who are currently achieving great things in sport representing Great Britain. Matt ran with the Olympic Torch yesterday and is the British Champion for Discus, Javelin and plays rugby for Wasps and has Captained the under 16 England Rugby team. Chris Blandford has represented Kent in Athletics and is currently in the British Baseball team. It was therefore very inspirational for the children to see what can be achieved by pupils at Pluckley School. Matt and Chris took an assembly for the children and explained how important Pluckley School had been  to them and the opportunities that they received whilst they were pupils here. Both Matt and Chris went on to the Norton Knatchbull school and it was then that their sporting excellence really began to shine. We wish them all the best for the future and we will keep watching out for their future successes.
Photographs were taken by Mel Smith of all the children at the school holding the Torch.
