Kandinsky Class had a very exciting trip to Maidstone Museum on Tuesday. As a culmination of their previous topic work about Ancient Egypt and as part of their new study 'Planet Earth,' the children got to handle ancient relics and appreciate beautiful art made from recycled waste. Our guide allowed us to look at 3000 year old mummified hands and bandages- we weren't impressed with the smell but couldn't resist looking!
The stunning art was in a special exhibition by artist Val Hunt and depicts creatures on the edge of extinction or totally lost. We were inspired to create art in this style too, in order to convey the important message that we must act now to save our planet. Learning outside the classroom is always fun!
