Home Learning from 16th April 2020
Hello everyone, we hope you have managed to have a restful Easter 'break' and had the opportunity to enjoy all the lovely sunshine.
As today is the end of what would have been our official Easter holiday, please find attached home learning activities for Year 5 and 6. Each year group has a Maths and English learning pack with a set of instructions attached to the powerpoint slides to explain what you are being asked to.
Don't forget to send some photos or videos of some of the learning or exciting activities you are doing while learning from home.
Timestables Rock stars and Numbots
Please find below the links to access the TT (timestable) rockstars and the Numbots maths programme. Both websites are fun and competitive ways for pupils to learn timestables and maths fluency activities in a range of areas.
Also attached is a copy of the parent letters for both websites, which were sent out in the learning packs, as a copy for your reference to support with the children being able to access the site and use them at home.
Daily reading and writing
Try to read regularly over this time of school closure, we would recommend everyday. If you are worried you don't have a wide range books at home, why not use the link below, it is full of school aged books for free online.
Free online books from Renaissance myON (associated with Accelerated Reader)
Remember one you have read a book, you can write your own book review. This can be shared with your class teacher via the school office, with the best being placed on the school website.
Also why not try to keep a school closure daily diary to chronicle these unprecedented events with things your are doing, how your are staying active, how your are staying in contact (safely) with friends and family, new things you are trying or even your questions or any worries you might have.
Week beginning 23rd March
For their first week and half of working at home, all of the children have been provided with their own home learning packs with cover work in Maths, GPS and reading.
Along with the packs, they have been provided with a learning journal which they can use to complete any work or may any notes, this will become particularly important in the coming weeks as more of the work moves online.
Additionally, all of the children have been provided with a login to access timestable rockstars and numbots (both online maths programmes) at home.
Additionally I have added some added some learning activity packs below, which the children can use from this website. They cover a range of different areas and subjects and the children can select which ones they do. On occasions, they might be set a specific task from these activity packs.
