Dinosaur Making 07.07.2020

This weeks home learning pack was all about Dinosaurs!

The year 1 children in school have been learning about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores and used dinosaur poo to help them!

(Of course we were only pretending!)

We made brown coloured salt dough and decided whether the dinosaurs it came from were carnivores, herbivores or omnivores based on what we found in there. Some had little bits of bone in (bits of white plastic forks), some had plants and leaves in (salad leaves), whilst others had a mixture of both. These clues told us about their diet and we could deduce which type of animals they were. We then played a Dino detective game to find out which type of dinosaurs belonged to which poo, for example the one with bits of bone could have belonged to a Tyrannosaurus Rex or a Velociraptor.
