This week we have been sharpening our place value skills in maths by looking at different strategies to support solving problems. Such as using our knowledge of number bonds to ten to add 3 numbers as well as using the inverse to solve missing number problems. In Literacy this week we have retold the story of traction man, we mapped out the story first and then retold it using lots of different story language. We then moved into writing from a characters perspective. We wrote a diary from Traction mans point of view explaining the daily missions that occurred. In topic this week, we began exploring "real life superheros" and what makes them extraordinary. We had suggestions of vets, police men, lifeguards and parents. We discussed why these people are real life superheros and what they do that is important. In RE this week we have been investigating The Five Pillars of Islam. We first looked at the names of each pillar, then learnt about what each pillar actually means and then had a discussion on whether we thought it would be easy or difficult to follow these rules.
