This week we planned and wrote some instructions on how to construct a 3D paper model of a 1666 house. The children were given a net of the building and no instructions. They had to decide what equipment they needed and what steps they had to take in order to make the house. We noted down bullet points as we went, to remind ourselves of what instructions were needed for each step. The next day we used our plans and our model to write a set of instructions on how to make the houses, concentrating on using adverbs to describe how to do the steps and adding in details to make the instruction specific.
