To introduce our topic of pilgrimage in RE we visited Canterbury Cathedral on Friday 2nd December. When we arrived the children began by getting into costumes of the people involved in the story of Thomas Beckett. We were then given a guided tour of the Cathedral and learnt about who travelled to the Cathedral and why they did too. After this we had a lunch break, where after we went to the activity room. There were lots of fun things for the children to do, including making souvenir badges, stained glass pictures, quill writing, rock chiseling and puzzle building. It was a fantastic day, the children enjoyed it and were also extremely well behaved!
